CONCH SEASON AT AN END

Tonight, we're saying good on you if you got in one last serving of conch soup, conch fritters, or conch ceviche.

It's the last you'll get this season because from here on out there's no conch from here to October. And on Sunday June 26th Ministry of the Blue economy Andre Perez will declare the conch season closed. A release tonight advises fishers to quote: " cease as of this date until the opening of the next fishing season on October 1st, 2022."

It likewise advises all establishments and the public to quote: " use, consume and dispose of all Queen Conch meat in their possession on or before June 26, 2022." End quote

The good news is that Lobster season is on its way, opening on July 1st.
