Oceana Says Oil Rig Moving Along, Eventually

Yesterday we told you all about the oil rig that appeared in Belizean Waters - within distance of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. It caused widespread panic in San Pedro. And though the scare was unfounded since it is not here to do any oil exploration - today there are still lingering doubts.

But, OCEANA Belize confirms tonight that the Oil rig is on the move. The organization says it is monitoring the status of the Frida 1, which is still located in Belizean waters near Turneffe Atoll.

"Current information on the MarineTraffic app says the oil rig is traveling North heading for Cuidad del Carmen, Mexico with an estimated arrival time of June 14th 2023."
