On Friday we told you about the situation at Angelfish Caye - a mangrove island about an hour off the coast of Placencia, and known by the locals as Will Bauer flats.
Local tour guides say that a developer set to dredge out the area will do more damage to the nearby reef, marine life, and the livelihoods of dozens of tour guides and fishermen.
But, despite their protestations, the developer has all the approvals and permits from the Ministries of Sustainable Development and Natural Resources. Still, the Resources Minister today told us he was not up to speed with the development:
Reporter
"Do you have any knowledge on the permits given for the project on Angel Fish Caye known as Will Bauer Flats off Placencia?"

Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources
"No, no, no, but we were supposed to have a cabinet tomorrow, we're not going to have a cabinet tomorrow because I think that tomorrow we're going to get a full briefing on that from the Ministry of Environment and to give us a full appraisal of what happened there and what didn't happen, but we won't get that briefing again tomorrow, but I believe we will get that pretty soon."
