And despite the competition, Minister Usher is confident that PUP has this election in the bag. Today he told us that the blue machine has been on the ground for months now, but while he's sure they'll win, he wouldn't tell us what his estimates look like.

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of Public Service

"This is an absolutely critical meeting before every election, Elections and Boundaries Department meets with the political parties with all independent candidates, political movements, anybody who wants to contest the election to go through the election rules, regulations, what is going to happen on nomination day, what is going to happen on Election Day. This is an opportunity for everyone to ask question, to clarify issues, and to make sure that everyone is on the same footing on Election Day."

"They're pretty much the same, everything, the nomination forms, the persons that need to be registered electors in municipalities nominating the candidates, all of those are the same. I just wanted to get clarification on some issues and we did that today. The parties were represented and we had some independent candidates and movements there as well."
