On Friday the Nurse's Association of Belize announced that their membership at the Karl Heusner Hospital has rejected government's plan to merge KHMH with Universal Hospital. The nurses say they are willing to fight and they now have the support of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize. The nurses and representatives from the Medical and Dental Congress met with union leaders on Saturday. Leaders emerged from the meeting with a demand to government: put a stay on all further discussion, decisions, and plans until stakeholders are properly consulted and informed. The coalition has now asked for a meeting with Prime Minister Said Musa and Health Minister Jose Coye.
