Retired BDF Captain Charlie Good went on a hunger strike yesterday in front of the Supreme Court. It was a part of his continuing protest against government’s termination of his wife as a school warden. But the news tonight is that less than a day into that hunger strike – Charlie Good had to call it off or at least delay it. That is because Good – who is a diabetic began experiencing health problems yesterday afternoon. He was taken to the hospital and was told his blood pressure was dangerously low. He is home tonight and told us today that he will be taking a break but will resume his hunger strike.

Charlie Good, Still Protesting
“I made that decision and the day before yesterday we arrived at the courthouse, the foot of the Supreme Court and the last time I had something to eat was that morning about two o’clock. Normally diabetic people you eat little by little. But Keith you know, here I go again at random in a sense, you might have to bring me back to the question, but I am not catering for public sympathy. I am not catering for public sympathy.

I am in the process of taking a rest from our ordeal, recuperating somewhat so that we can continue this matter if needed at a later date.”

Keith Swift,
“But you so you’ve not surrendered.”

Charlie Good,
“Not at all. I am resolute with regard to my stand for justice.”

Charlie Good plans to resume his hunger strike on Monday. His wife Hirian Good will continue her peaceful protest in front of the Supreme Court.
