We first met Farah Jones just about a year ago on May 18th. Since then the 30 year old with end stage renal failure has been lurching from one health crisis to another. We thought she'd be better off since she got into the KHMH dialysis program.
But, it's not that simple, and the mother of four is again in need of blood - as part of her weekly dialysis treatments. She has been admitted at the KHMH for the past 3 weeks and today she told 7News, what was already difficult is becoming overwhelming:
Farah Jones, Needs Blood
"My condition right now - I still have renal failure, I have a chest pain. The reason I end up in here is because I was going blind. My blood is low, I came in here with my blood at 4.5, right now it is at 6.0, I need to carry it up more because I am losing blood fast and I need blood. My blood type A-, I can also get O-. I really need the blood, I am in this situation whereby I am doing the dialysis 3 days a week but the count is going down and I need blood, I don't have a lot of people to donate blood for me so I am asking the public to help. I really need a lot of help and it is hard because my family members can't donate blood because some of them are sick, so i have to be around looking for blood from other people and then I still owe the blood bank some blood that I have to replace, so I need blood, I really need blood. I am in here for 3 weeks now and it's hard to get blood."
If you would like to donate blood to Farah you can contact her at telephone number 6-2-5-7-8-5-7 or you can stop by the blood bank.
