The Commissioner also announced today that Assistant Police Commissioner Marco Vidal, the Department's Commander of Operations, has recovered from that serious stroke he suffered several months ago.

You'll remember that that on July 7th, Vidal was one of the speakers at a press conference that the police held to announce the Southside State of Emergency. Shortly after that conference, Vidal was admitted to the hospital due to a stroke, which caused bleeding in his brain.

Well, his police boss told the press this morning that his health has improved significantly, to the point where he has returned to work:

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"Let me also take the opportunity to welcome ACP Vidal back among us. I know that the Belizean society, for the most part, were also praying for his full and quick recovery. And so, God has answered our prayers. He's back with us, in good spirits, ready to go. And so, I want to emphasize that prayers do move mountains."
