The number of positive tests for Covid have been trending down recently - and, for example, over the long weekend - between Friday night and Monday night, 876 samples were tested, and only 68 came back positive, that's about an 8% positive rate - while weeks ago that percentage had gone to between 20 and 30%.

And while it is an encouraging trend, 68 new cases is still a lot, and there is also one new confirmed death, and possible two. For the confirmed case, it was an elderly woman from the Orange Walk District who was symptomatic but had not been diagnosed. She died at home and the diagnosis was made post-mortem. She is the second successive case to die at home.

As of last night, two patients remained on ventilators at the KHMH ICU. There are 1635 confirmed cases since March, 647 active cases and 967 recovered cases.
