And while the Field Hospital could be a light in the dark of the pandemic, Belize may have no one to flick the switch.
That's because DHS Marvin Manzanero has not been at his desk since December of last year.
And with no one officially filling the post, Belize's public healthcare system has found itself without a technical leader - during a pandemic. There was also no one form that office - not even the Deputy - Dr Francis Morey at yesterday's press conference:
We asked the Minister of Health about that today.

"Sir, people at MOH and in the hospitals are asking, how are we going to maneuver the pandemic without a DHS, without an epidemiologist, Dr. Morey, the acting DHS wasn't even at the press conference. Why was that?"
Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness
"Right, Dr. Morey wasn't there because we actually had an orientation meeting with PAHO yesterday and so he was a critical part of that, he presented to PAHO our 2021 health priorities and so he was at that meeting along with me yesterday."
