And from carrots to COVID, 7 more patients have lost their lives in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths to 489.
Three of the patients were unvaxxed, three were fully vaxxed, and one was partially vaxxed. Five were females and two were males. And five of them came from Orange Walk, one from Stann Creek and one from Corozal.
Presently, 33 patients are hospitalized, 18 are unvaxxed while 13 are fully vaxxed. Of the 10 ICU admissions, 5 are unvaxxed.
There were 274 new cases reported and tonight the majority of them are coming out of the Belize District. 59 cases were discovered there, and 52 in Cayo. There are currently 2,663 active cases.
And so while that's a shocking 13 deaths in two days - tonight, many are praying to keep the well-known Dr Cecilio Eck off that list. We are told the paediatrician remains in a critical condition but has shown slight signs of improvement in the last 24 hours. Still, we are told the prognosis remains very guarded.
