And, speaking of positive tests, earlier you heard Ministry of Health Technical Advisor Dr Beer Speak plainly about the Ministry of health having COVID tests "that are not the best quality". That caught our attention and led us to this invitation to bid for COVID-19 Lyra PCR tests.
It's from the Ministry of Health and raised a flag because Lyra was recalled in July of this year, quote, "due to a significant risk of false negative results for patients with relatively high amounts of SARS?CoV?2 virus." End quote.
A medical journal notes that, quote, "risk was linked not to patients with easily overlooked trace amounts of the coronavirus in their….swab samples, but to those with relatively high amounts of the virus." End quote.
We know that in the past this test had reportedly been sourced from a favored supplier out of Panama.
Bids for this new stock must be in by early next month - so we'll try to get some answers on "Why Lyra" before then.
