One thousand eighty nine - that's how many newly confirmed cases were recorded today - setting Belize's record for the highest daily COVID count. The Belize District reported the highest number, with 428. Meanwhile, Cayo reported 241 and Orange Walk reported 125. This takes the number of active cases up to 6,088. Still there are only 20 hospitalizations - a relatively low number compared to the Delta wave.
Out of that 20, eight are unvaxxed, 8 are vaxxed, 2 are partially vaxxed, and two are not announced.
There are also three patients in the ICU. There are no deaths to report, but in a day's time, the daily positivity rate has jumped from 23.5% to 29.9%. The death toll remains at 607.
