But all the morale in the world won't fill the void of leadership left by the now supposedly redundant role of the Director of Health Services.
That single post will now be replaced by a Director of Public Health, a Director of Hospital services, and a Director of International Health. The trouble is that to date none of these posts have been filled. In fact, they may not have even been properly advertised!
It's a crisis of leadership that only depend in the former Minister's last day. So we asked this new minister whether he has anyone in mind for these 3 new director posts:
Hon. Kevin Bernard, Minister of Health
"As the new minister I want to ensure that we look at the entire organogram of the ministry, look at where the strengths and weaknesses are, and try to tie those dots altogether, I can't tell you that I have any names as I will lie to you if I'm telling you that. I'm not going in there to any witch-hunting I'm going in there to get our ministry back on track and to work with our people that are professionals."
