The end of the curfew may be closer than we think. That's because today, the daily positivity rate has dropped to 5.87%. And as you've heard before, 5% or lower has been the Ministry of Health's goal in order to relax the COVID regulations. The last time the daily positivity rate was this low was back on December 23rd.
And there were only 72 new cases to report today, 15 of them from Cayo, and 14 from Belize and Corozal. There are also 12 hospitalizations, 9 unvaccinated, and three fully vaxxed. Two patients are also in the ICU. And there are two new deaths to report, one unvaxxed and one fully vaxxed. Both were men from the Belize District. This brings the death toll to 650. And with 220 new recoveries, the active numbers are down to 1,451.
