First off, this next story is not suitable for children - so, if you have them in the room, show them out for this one.
Kayla Sutherland is currently living a mother's worst nightmare - her daughter is mysteriously ill and she has no idea what's wrong with her.
15-year-old Keniya Sutherland was fine one day, and the next, she began acting strangely. Over the past month, her health has only gotten worse. Apart from eerie, nonsensical mumblings, she no longer has the strength to walk or even move around. She barely eats and hardly sleeps, spending most of her time crying in bed. She is suffering and her mother is desperate and running out of options. So far, doctors aren't able to diagnose what exactly is wrong with her and Sutherland is now pleading to the public wide and far to help her figure out what is ailing her only child.
Courtney Menzies spoke with her today and has this story.
A month ago, 15-year-old Keniya Sutherland was a normal second form, honor roll student.
But one night, she began saying strange things and since then, her health has seriously deteriorated. Now, her mother is at her breaking point because she cannot figure out what is wrong with her only child.

Kayla Sutherland, Mother
"My daughter is going through a lot right now, words can't explain but it's going for a month now that she's not herself. She just does abnormal stuff, sometimes she can't eat, sleep, headache. She does things out of the way like, you know, hurt herself, sometimes she talks things that doesn't make sense. And then sometimes she's normal. She always cry and say, ma, help me, because I'm tired of suffering and things like that. One spell she walks, and one spell she just collapse, sometimes she can move, can't eat, can't sleep. And I took her to the doctor, we did a CT Scan, and nothing came out."
"She talks a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense like, ma, dah fi you this, I dih suffer for you. Then she would said, ma, I want to die, I'm tired of suffering, just let me kill myself. And then she would say I am using somebody body to come to she and sometimes she said I am not her real ma. And she just bring up other people name in her mouth, it's just crazy. Sometimes she's normal, sometimes she just goes."
And that's just the start of it; Keniya is practically immobile, unable to even go to the bathroom most days because she just falls down. Sometimes she is aware of what's happening, and sometimes she just stares. She has lost a lot of weight from not eating and she sometimes sees and hears things that aren't really there.
And every day is another heart wrenching struggle for this single mother, who's had to quit her job because Keniya needs round the clock supervision, especially since she constantly talks about harming herself and others. And now, Sutherland is pleading for any kind of help the public can offer.
Kayla Sutherland, Mother
"I'm just asking for help if anybody ever experience this before or know how I could help, because I'm tired of seeing my baby like this. She doesn't deserve it, she needs to live a normal life because this isn't normal and I'm just tired of seeing my daughter every day in pain. I'm trying my best to do everything because I can't even work right now because I have to deal with her. So I just want if anybody know anything, if they could please help me."
"When I talk to her doctor, he said the next step was to take an MRI so I guess that's the next one, if that doesn't work then I don't know, I really don't know."
And Sutherland claims her daughter has spoken to a psychiatrist at the hospital who was also unable to diagnose her. With few options left, Sutherland is forced to watch, helpless, as her daughter suffers. If you are able to provide any kind of assistance, she can be contacted at 631-9979.
