And in health news, last week healthcare workers from hospitals across the country staged walkouts, demanding that they be paid for the hours they worked and that shortages in the hospital be remedied.
The KHMH staff had a small protest in solidarity with the other medical workers in each district. Their staff also pointed to shortages of basic supplies and medicines. Today, we asked the CEO, Chandra Cansino, for an update on those shortages:
Chandra Cansino, CEO, KHMH
"It's been a week and as I reiterated, the Karl Heusner Workers Union and the Karl Heusner Management and Board have no trade dispute, they did it simply to support their colleagues in the distract hospitals. Yes, we are challenged with supplies, we have been receiving more supplies, I think probably the tender cycle for this year is starting to kick in and so we hope to see that improvement to continue."

"What about the CAT Scan machine which is something that's been a problem for sometime?"
Chandra Cansino, CEO, KHMH
"The CAT Scan is an area that we're still trying too… we're trying to get a CAT Scan Machine so we had a tendering process and that is now going to the financial subcommittee of the board actually this afternoon and so we hope to see a decision made on where and what CAT Scan Karl Heusner will get in the very near future."
