Last week it made headlines when the Belize Coalition of Medical Professionals gave the government a 7 day ultimatum. The group comprising Doctors, nurses and KHMH workers called for, quote, "urgent and meaningful intervention from the Government of Belize...within the seven days, to address 7 urgent issues.
Well that deadline has come and gone, and...nothing happened - there was no meeting with government, no urgent intervention, and today, no consequence for it; life continued as normal at the KHMH. Seems the Coalition was nothing more than a paper tiger - and we understand that the main main behind it, Nurse Andrew Baird has taken a leave of absence as the President of the KHMH Workers Union. The man holding over for him, Tylon Tillett confirmed the that Baird is taking a break - but said he could not speak for the Coalition. But, no need to, because tonight their silence and inaction kind of says it all.
