It's not every day that new parents give birth to multiples, and in Belize, triplets are very rare.
That's why the country's excitement was piqued yesterday when the KHMH announced that three babies were expected, IMMINENTLY.
And this morning at 9:58 AM, they were delivered via c-section to a first time mother, three bouncing baby boys filling the operating theatre with the sounds of strong cries. I spoke with an excited and relieved first time father this morning about very suddenly, having a full family to take care of:
These were the beaming young parents-to-be of triplets, yesterday when they were first interviewed at the KHMH.
And today was induction day, the selected date for the KHMH to deliver these much-anticipated babies.
This afternoon we caught up with their father, Animal Murillo to find out about his journey to becoming a first-time Dad.
Enmil Murillo, Father Of New-Born Triplets

"The process of you know the weeks going on and the babies growing and the ultrasounds and so forth, everything, went, well, everything went well, up the point as well, the babies were born and everything went well as well but I wasn't allowed to be in the room but you know, they helped me, they Karl Heusner, they allowed me certain limitations."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Did they provide you with updates along the way, yeah, they were consistent, you know, like this and that and this is what's happening, this is not what's happening and so forth."
We asked him what it was like meeting his boys
Enmil Murillo, Father Of New-Born Triplets
"I completely ignored everyone, I just I had to just stare at them and I was just like wow, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, God is amazing, God they are more than what I expected."
"I have literally seen people cry in front of me with just pictures that I show them, so I think it's beyond more than my family and relative and close family members, um, they are very happy and excited as well."
And as this complete family takes it's next steps into the future, it's not lost on this young dad that the finances of raising triplets will certainly be challenging.
Cherisse Halsall:
"How are you wrapping your mind around what the financial obligations will be to take care of three children?"
Enmil Murillo, Father Of New-Born Triplets
"I, multiple times people tell me, you know a child is stress and so forth and then they ask me, how will you handle all three, and I mean it happened for a reason God knows why it happened to me and my wife as well but I am willing now to accept whatever help comes my way. I would appreciate it as much as I can and I know my wife feels the same way and you know I mean who wouldn't want to be some part of three boys, I mean they are triplets and so forth and who wouldn't want to see them grow up and the experiences that might come out along from there."
For their part, the KHMH has pledged to offer as much support as they can muster.

Tylon Tillett, Public Relations Officer
"The relationship with Karl Heusner doesn't finish just because we have provided medical services, we know that having three kids is a gargantuan task and so the hospital is making an effort to try and gather resources to try and help with something like this, whether it is someone to help change the diapers or some assistance from the public so we reached out to some corporate donors such as San Can limit. They are going to provide wipes and pampers and another company in the form of Price Premier products has also come on so far if there are other entities out there that are willing to help you can contact the KHMH and ask for the public relations department and we will be more than happy to facilitate getting more resources to these young parents, first-time parents."
Enmil Murillo, Father Of New-Born Triplets
"I feel happy, I feel happy that the boys are born, that they are born healthy and strong and, um, I am just looking forward to making them, you know, be recognized in the future from this moment on."
And pending their birth certificates, the triplets have also received three Holy Redeemer Credit Union accounts with $100.00 each. Those wishing the support the family can contact the credit union to find out how to contribute to those accounts.
