Today, the Minister of Education echoed that position when he said that UB remains open to hosting the hospital - but the decision is not theirs to make. And he gave no indication that government was re-considering its decision to move the location of the hospital:

"The University of Belize, has always made it very clear that they stand prepared to make this land available to hospital"

"It was the Ministry of Health, based on technical advice that made the decision that they would not use UB's land."

"I have no idea. but there's no discussion about that. Again, as I said, this is a decision made by the Ministry of Health, based on technical advice. their technical expertise"
