And, while those were only two Guatemalans, what about three thousand Hondurans? That's how many were reported ot be in a Human caravan which left San Pedro Sula on Thursday - as the border with Guatemala opened. They are desperate for jobs and food and trying to make it to the USA. And that could have meant interring Belize. That's why about three dozen soldiers were sent to the western border. But, police say that wasn't the only border they secured:
International news reports said today that "Guatemalan authorities sent more than 3,000 Honduran migrants back to their home country over the past few days, dissolving much of a caravan heading north even while dwindling groups continued the trek toward the United States." As many as 2,800 people crossed the border in the initial incident, according to Guatemala's government.Since then and on Saturday, 3,586 migrants had "opted to return," the government said."
