CARICOM's First Meeting With US Sec. Of State

CARICOM Foreign Ministers met virtually this morning with Antony J. Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State - in the first CARICOM-USA high-level engagement under the Biden-Harris Administration.

Foreign Minister Eamon Courtenay represented Belize.

A release says the roundtable says the talks included the dual crises of COVID-19 recovery and climate change.

In his remarks, Courtenay emphasized the complex challenges that have worsened due to the ongoing pandemic and its resulting economic fallout. Courtenay also called for urgent action to address the climate emergency at the upcoming COP26.
