Lynn Young, Belize's new Ambassador to the USA presented his letters of credence to US President Joe Biden last week Wednesday.
A release says that Young expressed Belize's commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations with the US, based on values of democracy, peace and security, good governance, and sustainable development for the betterment of the people of both countries.
In his response, President Biden spoke about the strong partnerships that both countries enjoy, and he also applauded Belize's peaceful transition of power in November of last year, as a continued demonstration of Belize's tradition of democracy.
2 days later, Ambassador Young also presented his credentials to His Excellency Luis Almagro, the Secretary-General of the Organization of American States. Young is now officially installed as Belize's Permanent Representative to the OAS.
