And the topic of Russia's attacks on Ukraine will definitely be on the discussion table at next week's Caricom Inter-Sessional meeting.

And right after two days of Caricom comes the SICA meeting, which the UN Secretary General is scheduled to attend. Then, a little over two weeks later, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will be visiting the island as a part of their royal tour to commemorate the queen's 70 years of service.

And it's all happening on little San Pedro!

Today we asked the area rep, Andre Perez, how his home base will handle it all:

Hon. Andre Perez - Area Rep, Belize Rural South
"This is nothing new for our island, we are very much prepared, this community is prepared and we always rise to the occasions. As I speak to you right now we are making all preparation, both at the airport, the roads, this is nothing new, we are use to international events, we're very much use to it."

Reporter
"Sir is the UN secretary general is also going to be here?"

Hon. Andre Perez
"Yes world leaders are coming here, also secretary general Antonio Guterres."

But the royals won't only be going to San Pedro, a release this evening says "Belize is the first stop on their Caribbean tour…During their stay in Belize, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have an opportunity to see Belize's pioneering work in coral reef restoration and visit the southern part of Belize, where they will visit with Maya and Garifuna communities."
