Tonight Prime Minister John Briceno is at the Ninth Summit of the Americas Inaugural Ceremony in Los Angeles tonight.

He arrived at the venue about an hour ago - and met the host, US President Joe Biden about half an hour ago.

The Summit is being held under the theme "Building a Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future" and has strong representations form Caribbean heads of state and government, but not so much from Central America, and certainly not form Mexico - which sent its foreign Minister in protest of the fact that invitations were not extended to Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

At the opening ceremony tonight, President Biden will announce the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity, a historic new agreement to drive the hemisphere's economy recovery and growth.

More from this event later on in the news.
