CARICOM Stands With Belize, Scolds Guatemala For Incursions

But CARICOM stands did issue its statement this morning and they stand in support of Belize. Their statement calls on Guatemala to, quote, "ensure that its military forces desist from illegally entering Belizean territory and from aggressive actions which will raise tensions between the countries, escalate into a military conflict, and endanger the safety of persons who use the Sarstoon River." End quote.

CARICOM also reminded both countries of their commitment to maintain peace in the Caribbean region and they end their statement by reaffirming their unwavering support for the sovereignty and security of Belize.
