Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs

"Belize, As I have said before, we are very, very concerned about that issue. We work and coordinate our response very closely with Caricom. So we've been having a lot of discussions about this issue in Caricom. Of course, we're very concerned about, you know, the military build up in the Caribbean Sea. You know, we said ad nauseam that, you know, we want to keep the Caribbean Sea, the Caribbean as a zone of peace. You know, so we're very concerned about that issue. Particularly over the last few weeks and days, we've seen even increased build up. And we're hoping we're certainly hoping, that there is no military action in the Caribbean. Because that will affect all of us, that will affect our economies. Obviously will have effect affect on tourism. So, we're very, very concerned about that issue. And we're following it very closely. And as I said, we work very closely with Caricom In terms of our response to these issues."
