Today, after an 8 day closure, Albert Street was re-opened. But don’t get the wrong idea it’s not paved with the magical not mix yet. But it is part-way there. That’s because the concrete foundation for the street has cured. It was laid down last week Thursday and is called a concrete treated base.
It’s actually smoother than most streets as it is but it’s covered in fine sand and today the clouds of dust were mushrooming again on Albert Street. Works Minister Boots Martinez says that will be over soon as they are on schedule to lay down the hot mix on Wednesday December 17th.
And while the re-opening of the street in this half finished state has powdered everywhere along Albert Street with dust, it’s also eased what had become acute traffic congestion across the city.
