A family of five has slowly been picking up the pieces after their home burned down on Tuesday in Burrell Boom Village. The incident occurred around 8:30 this morning, while the matriarch of the family was home alone with her 6-month-old granddaughter. She and the baby managed to escape harm but were unable to save anything apart from a single "onesie" and an industrial freezer she uses for work. Today we spoke with Margarita Torres via telephone as she explained the moment she found out her home was on fire.

Torres lived with her husband, her son, her daughter-in-law, and her infant granddaughter. If anyone would like to assist the family, especially with things for the baby, they can get in touch with them at 632-6497.
