If you regularly travel the Phillip Goldson Highway, you'll know all about the roundabout which the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing is constructing at the Crooked Tree Junction, at mile 31 on the Philip Goldson Highway.
It's a major infrastructure upgrade on a part of the highway where there have been at least 5 deaths in recent years. Crooked Tree Residents have been clamoring for the construction of safety features to protect pedestrians who are trying to cross the road.
Well, they're getting a roundabout, and the Ministry says that from today until March 1, there will be a lane closure and traffic diversion at that part of the road. This is to facilitate the construction of the roundabout.
This evening, we got a chance to speak telephone with the "Groove Master" Steve Anthony, a resident of Crooked Tree and a former village vice-chairman who has long agitated for improvements at the junction. He shared his views on the roundabout's construction:
