A coalition of printers under the banner of the Printer's Association were today given the green light to sue the Government of Belize over the sale of the Government Printery to Print Belize Limited and their subsequent annual $2.5 million contract.

In granting the printers leave for judicial appeal, Justice Denys Barrow said the lawsuit was in the public interest and should proceed.

But while it may be in the public interest to know, Prime Minister Hon. Said Musa yesterday told us he sees no reason for the lawsuit.

Keith Swift,
"Any comment on the lawsuit brought by the printers?"

Hon. Said Musa,
"I don't know anything about it..."

Keith Swift,
"...Just comment about the fact that they are suing the government..."

Hon. Said Musa,
"I cannot comment because it is a matter before the courts and I am convinced that the government did right, I have no fear of that. And I think that poor Belizeans, hard working Belizeans who have invested to purchase what was formerly the Government Printers have a right just like any other big company who are doing printing in Belize."

The first hearing in the lawsuit will be May 6th.
