For the 25th time, the CARICOM Heads of Government are meeting to discuss issues affecting the region. Topping the agenda will be the CARICOM single market and economy as well as the troubled state of the sugar industry in Caribbean countries and the rather austere outlook particularly for Eastern Caribbean states which cannot endure the European Union's rumored 33% cut in sugar prices. Belize has sugar issues as well and Prime Minister Hon. Said Musa today left for Grande Anse in Grenada for the conference that will run from July 4 to the 7th. While sugar will be central, other issues such as the Caribbean Court of Justice, and the single market and economy are expected to feature prominently.
