February 20th, that is the tentative date that has been set for a somewhat unexpected PUP national convention. 7NEWS _has confirmed that the party's national executive met yesterday evening and decided that the convention, long a subject of speculation and in some quarters worry, would be held by the end of February. At the national convention all executive seats, form leader to deputy leader, down to deputy campaign manager would be open for election. It's a quite explosive political decision by the Musa controlled executive to have the convention sooner than later. Musa's camp feels that after the G7 rift in August, he has gained political support internally, even as his national political fortunes may have suffered from the fallout. Now Musa's advisors seem intent on seizing on this support, and perhaps, purging the G7 infidels. Presently, the G7 controls three executive posts: deputy leader, John Briceno, deputy campaign manager, Eamon Courtenay and eastern chairman Joe Coye.
