It's an old refrain in some quarters, but today a credible voice has been added to the chorus as the Christian Worker's Union today called for Narda Garcia's head. In a two-paragraph press release, the CWU says it strongly opposes the re-appointment of Garcia as social security's chief executive officer. The union says it wants Narda gone because "after careful deliberations and consultations with our partners on the appointment of Garcia as CEO and taking into account several issues of industrial relations which have negatively impacted and continue to affect our members at social security, the union strongly opposes the re-appointment of Garcia as CEO." The union ends by asking prime Minister Said Musa to suspend Narda Garcia until quote "a transparent and fair process is put in place for the employment of a CEO at social security." No official from the CWU was available for further comment as CWU President Antonio Gonzalez is on leave and general secretary James McFoy was in meetings. We note that Garcia was given her new 5-year contract in November of last year.
