The much touted DFC Commission of Inquiry has been handicapped out of the gates when it was informed of the DFC's legal position on a Commission: that section 18 of the DF Act requires every director, officer and employee of the corporation to preserve secrecy and not divulge any information of permit access to DFC's records. That blanket declaration of confidentiality throws a wrench into the proposed works of the DFC Commission of Inquiry tasked to uncover the many skeletons in the financial wasteland that is the DFC. Well, the Leader of the Opposition has written to the Prime Minister urging him to make it so that the Commission can do its work. Barrow advises Musa amend the Commission of Inquiry act so that it supersedes the DFC Act and grants the commissioners the access they require. Barrow however warns that he understands Cabinet has refused to do this. With that, he says the Opposition will present its own amendment bill to the House of Representatives.
