But now that Shoman is Chief Negotiator with Guatemala...what is there to negotiate after Prime Minister Musa told the international press that Belize is taking the differendum to the international court? Well, it turns out that was a well staged bluff. It sent the Guatemalans back to meetings with the OAS and in an interview granted only to the Government Press Office that will air tonight on the PUP talk show 'Forefront,' the Prime Minister said that they remain ready to negotiate.
Said Musa, Prime Minister
"On the question of our relations with Guatemala I should make clear that we are prepared to continue the dialogue with Guatemala peacefully to resolve our differences as two sovereign nations respecting each other's territorial integrity. We are prepared to work under the auspices of the OAS to maintain peace and stability along our borders."
You can see the rest of that interview when Forefront airs tonight at 8:00 on Channel 7.
