He came into the country on Friday and this afternoon, Prime Minister Said Musa flew out again. This time. He's heading for Panama for a meeting of SICA, the Central American Integration System.

But before he left, this morning, the PM convened a rare Monday Cabinet meeting in Belmopan. Though no official announcement has been made, we are reliably informed that he did not announce any final decision on the fates of Social Security CEO Narda Garcia and Chairman Yasin Shoman.

As we understand it, the Prime Minister has not yet officially received the report of the Special Select Committee from Senate President, Phillip Zuniga, and until he does, PM Musa will not declare his position on the Senate recommendation that Garcia and Shoman must go.

So, at least until the Prime Minister returns, which is at the end of the week, no move will or can be made on Garcia or Shoman. There are many well informed and senior people in the administration who say that despite what the report says, Garcia and Shoman may escape being fired, as a reward for showing loyalty to the Musa administration. Also, we note that the report will not be made public until the Prime Minister receives it.
