And while Faber and Briceno argue about Luke Espat, Mesopotamia Representative Michael Finnegan saved his hard charge for DPP Kirk Anderson. Commenting on the recent file transfer circus between the DPP and the Police Department, Finnegan frowned on the DPP's conduct, and said that he should have been the bigger man.

Hon. Michael Finnegan, Mespotamia Area Rep.
“What the DPP needs to do, the DPP in my view is very disrespectful. He is the trained person. He is the qualified person. He was the one in my view

who should have handled the situation in a much righter and different way. What we need to do Madam Speaker, what we need to do, we have to put back confidence in our administration of justice. We have to let the public out there believe and know that the wheels of the administration of justice, that that wheel is turning properly, that when you go to the court or you deal with the police you know that you will get a shake of justice. That is not the case right now but we can remedy that situation and I know the Prime Minister will remedy that situation.

All the Prime Minister needs to do is to call upon the Governor General and ask the Governor General to put this matter and the conduct of the DPP before the Advisory Council for them to reach a decision. That is the way how you remove, how we can remove the DPP.”

Hon. Francis Fonseca, Attorney General
“As the Attorney General of Belize I have made it very clear to the Belizean people, as well as to the DPP, privately, my concern over the manner in which that took place. We are going to further discuss that matter with the DPP when he returns to the country. As we publicly said and reported to the people of Belize, the Prime Minister has convened a meeting of all the relevant parties to discuss that very matter, to discuss the issues of concern to the Belizean people as it relates to the administration of justice and we will resolve that matter in the right way.”
