DPP Kirk Anderson will leave office this week, reportedly after he gets a file which could implicate police officers involved in a Dangriga beating. But who will replace him? We've heard the names of former Senior Crown Counsel Cheryl-Lynn Branker-Taitt and present Crown Counsel Merlene Moody. But now, there's a new name added to the mix: Lutchman Sooknandan and he appears to be a favorite to take over the post.

Sooknandan worked in the DPP's office from 1986 to 1994 and served as DPP from 1992 to 1994. He today denied reports that he has been confirmed for the post, but conceded that, "it may be in the works."
