Last night we showed you a torrid and testy exchange of letters between BTL boss Dean Boyce and Labour Minister Francis Fonseca. We left it last night at Minister Fonseca refusing to withdraw his comments in support or Christine
Perriot's dismissal which the Minister said was in bad faith. Well, hardly moved by the Minister, today, Boyce snapped back, twice.
In the first letter he asks the Minister on whose authority and by what powers does he hope to investigate BTL's termination Of Christine Perriot. Boyce also warns the Minister that it is inappropriate for him to comment in the Perriot termination, and he declares that, "BTL resents the fact that you...seek to make political capital out of the situation."
In the second letter sent just hours later he puts the Minister of notice that he is sending in the very big guns to represent BTL on a labour tribunal to examine the cause for industrial action.
Who needs Barrow and Williams, because BTL has two high flying legal eagles from top firms in the United States. They are Josh Townsend of Hughes, Hubbard and Reed in Washington, and Mark Baker of Fulbright and Jaworski in Houston.
And if that notice didn't quite get the power point across, Boyce closes by telling the Minister that he needs to answer the questions about the investigation into BTL, before any such investigation can proceed.
