On March 11th we reported that on the Chief Justice’s ruling, which declared that the wall at the Fort Street Tourism Village must come down in seven to 14 days. Well today is that fourteenth day and the wall still has not come down. And from the looks of things, it won’t be doing so anytime soon.
7NEWS has confirmed that attorneys for the Fort Street Tourism Village, who are Rodwell Williams and Godfrey Smith have applied to the Supreme Court for a stay of the judgement pending an appeal. Acting Chief Justice Sam Awich granted that until April 4th when the CJ, Dr. Abdulai Conteh returns.
And so, with the clear indication that the village will vigorously oppose bringing down the wall, hope again dims for the Brown Sugar Developers who continue to oversee a languishing investment of a reported $15 million.
