Tonight the future of the Creole Waggans on E Street hangs in the balance – and it will remain so until after the municipal elections. As we’ve been reporting, Greg Reyes has built a branch of his popular discount outlet in his yard on E Street in the King’s Park area. But his neighbours are up in arms because they believe the presence of the popular discount outlet will disrupt the quiet of their residential community. But Reyes has already built the store and now he has even put up a sign while he awaits a trade license to open it. That decision to grant or refuse the license will be made by the mayor. She told us today that will come after the election.

Zenaida Moya,
“Unfortunately during this time it is very difficult to be holding any meetings right now, especially during this time, so immediately after elections when we get back into office, then we will ensure that we meet again as a Trade License Board, and we will discuss the matter and try to ensure that the best decision is made.”

Keith Swift,
Does Mr. Reyes know something you or I don’t know because he has already put up a sign and he looks like he is going to be opening soon?

Zenaida Moya,
“Okay I haven’t passed around the location so I don’t know.”

A public consultation with residents was held last week Thursday.
