On Monday we questioned the Prime Minister about tinted Ministerial vehicles, after new regulations were passed - and, based on information given to us that day, we asked specifically about the Toyota Prado assigned to Tourism Minister Manuel Junior Herredia.
The prime minister was brusque and stern - but it seems we unfairly threw Herredia under the bus. He called in to the radio station the next day to defend himself - saying he had removed his tint.
And indeed he had. Herredia sent his vehicle by our office today to prove it - and just in case we wanted to say that he removed it after the PM sounded off, he also sent a receipt for us from the Toyota dealership dated June 22nd which shows that tint work was done on the Prado on that date.
Our apologies for that error - but we'll keep on the lookout for dark tinted Government vehicles...
