Now, will an election date be announced then and there, or before that even..or who knows when. Convention wisdom right now puts a possible general election dat eat early to mid November.
And the chamber of commerce says that whenever that its announced - a leaders debate will be held two weeks before.
The Chamber today announced that in concert with Galen University and LOVE FM they have gotten positive responses from the leaders of the PUP, the UDP, the Belize Progressive Party, and the Belize People's Front to have a Prime Ministerial Debate. It will be under the quite staid theme "Achieving Sustainable Development in Belize".
A release says, quote "The event is designed to allow all political leaders to constructively debate their plans, agendas, and strategies."
The planning committee has agreed that the event will be scheduled for a date two weeks prior to Election Day. No word yet on who will be the moderators.
