And, the UDP leader was also surprisingly easygoing on the issue of his party's candidate for Corozal Southeast, Tony Herrera. As we first reported two weeks ago, he tested positive for COVID 19 in early October. And while the WHO guidelines say that 10 days to two weeks after a diagnosis a person is considered CODIV free, the Faber says Herrera is waiting for a test result after he was swabbed on Saturday:
Hon. Patrick Faber, Party Leader, U.D.P.
"Antonio "Tony" Herrera, who as you all know tested positive I think it was October 4th of this month. Tony was swabbed again on Saturday and that we are awaiting the response of his test. However, we believe that he has passed a significant portion of time, well passed the 10 days that the health authorities are requiring. We are taking a test to ensure, but I am also informed that Tony is just out of a virtual meeting with the returning officer for Corozal Southwest as well as his opponent from the People's United Party and I am encourage that the election and boundaries folks as well as the opposition are working together to ensure that no matter what the UDP will have a candidate nominated on Wednesday."

If that sounds a little shaky, Faber later added that the Elections and Boundaries office - with the consultation of the PUP candidate - is making accommodations for Herrera to be nominated.
