We also spoke to UDP Leader Patrick Faber an hour ago. He responded to the the Briceno position that people with COVID should go out and vote, while exercising measures. He agreed though that there is no law preventing them from doing so:

Patrick Faber, UDP Leader

"The law is very clear that if you have Covid19 that in fact you ought to quarantine yourself and that you should not be out in the public. But you are right, there is no such thing that disqualifies a Covid19 person from voting other than to say that that person really ought to be adhering to the law that says you should stay home if you are infected with Covid19."

"This was the point that we were making in order to have the election and boundaries people say listen these people will not be allowed to vote, you would have to break the confidence of those persons which we saw already being something that people weren't happy about when in fact that discussion came up in terms of disclosing the list to the ministry of national security. It is impossible then for the elections and boundaries folks to tell a voter who presents himself not declaring that he is Covid19 positive or she is Covid19 positive and so my advice to the general population since this is the situation that we behave tomorrow like everybody is Covid19 positive and we take all precautions in getting our voters to the polling stations. The parties must be responsible. I still encourage Covid19 positive people to stay at home, because of the kind of threat that they can pose to others. This is a very real situation and I wouldn't want people to come out and to recklessly endanger other people especially elder people and vulnerable people. So, I really can't be as reckless. Like you said I don't know what the leader of the opposition said, but if it was that he was saying listen still come out and vote if you are Covid19. That to me is very irresponsible and that's not my position at all."
