And party leader Patrick Faber also took Prime Minister John Briceno to task. Briceno has been lamenting the woeful state of government's finances, lamenting that government is borrowing a million dollars a day just to keep current with its wage bill.

Briceno related this as recently as yesterday - and today the Leader of the Opposition said, he should quit complaining because that million dollars a day is old news:

Hon. Patrick Faber - Leader of the Opposition "If it is Mr. Prime Minister that is costing you a million dollars a day, why is it that almost 3 months into your term, nothing has changed? You continue to find that million dollars, in fact one member of the media indeed asked that question and he did not relent from it, he owned to the fact that we still continue to borrow at least a million dollars a day in order to pay these salaries but he's afraid to make any kind of major moves because he is afraid of the outcome of the elections. He's afraid that he will be brought out to be disingenuous as we've always said and now that the shoe is on the other foot, now that they have to find all of these monies in order to keep these very basic and necessary programs that the Hon. Shyne Barrow spoke about going, they can't find the money, it is a constant complaint, they thought it would be easy to pay the public servants. They criticize the prime minister's borrowing which was not a bad thing in order to keep money and bread in the hands and the mouths of the public servants of this country who continue to spend and keep the economy going. It was not a bad thing but because they were so gun-ho about politicizing everything. They made a blunder of it and now the shoe is on the other foot. So, the opposition will not relent, we don't care quite frankly what they UDP of the past did, this is an opposition now, our position is to try to keep the government in check."
