As the PUP gets ready to select its slate for the 2021 municipal elections, one councilor says count her out.
This weekend, Dr Candice Pitts announced via Facebook that she will not be on the roster. The reason she gives is that she has another national assignment heading her way. Reports to 7News are that she has been tapped for a senior diplomatic posting abroad.
Another name you won't see is Ryan Elijio. He was contesting to be a councilor candidate, but says he is pulling out of the race. The reason? Well, he says he was caught cheating on his significant other and she threw him out.
He adds that he does not want his children to go through the, quote, "negative mudslinging that comes with politics" end quote, and them having to deal with him not being around as much.
Despite all this, he nicely threw in there that he will be contesting the 2024 elections.
