This morning, Home Affairs Minister Kareem Musa took a tour of the Belmopan Police Headquarters to better acquaint himself with the officers and the civilian staff who are stationed there. Musa was escorted by Police Commissioner Chester Williams who says that he invited the minister while they were having one of their regular meetings.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The minister and I meet regularly to discuss our different policing strategies as well as to look at where we are crime-wise. As you know, shortly after the minister took over, he did a tour of Eastern Division meeting with all the senior command. And so this morning, he went over by my office for a specific reason in terms of looking at some issues of welfare and after that was over, I invited the minister to take a tour around headquarters to familiarize himself with headquarters and the staff. He was open for it, we did the tour and he was very excited for what he saw."

"What was the issues of welfare that were discussed?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I am not going to go into those details, it was nothing of major welfare matters, but it was something that I was doing for some officers and I wanted the minister to be a part of what I was doing."
