And PSU's first VP says government will get that response someday. While he committed to a response to the government's undertakings by the end of the week, he didn't give a clear deadline to when they will respond to the draft legislations they received.

According to him, it has to be thoroughly reviewed first. But, he questioned why the government is even waiting for a response since in the PM's statement, he made it clear that that was their final offer.

Dean Flowers - First VP, PSU "I am certain that the response will be delivered to the government before the end of the week. From the PSU's part, we've weight in on the response and we expect that will be delivered to the government before the week is out. In regard to the legislations, there is a lot of work to be done there and so we didn't want to rush that. We've received comments on it from individuals in the legal fraternity and we are not going to fast the revision of those, we want to ensure that unlike the current legislations which has no enforceability mechanism that we don't want to be taken for fools. I dare to say that we will be providing meaningful input and a meaningful response within a time that is acceptable even if it means that perhaps these legislations may delay passage maybe a week or a month."

Reporter "So, is there any deadline that you're trying to aim for to get back at that table with the government?"

Dean Flowers "Let me remind you that in their opening remarks, the government said the prime minister has delivered this last best offer to the country, the world for that matter, we're simply here today to present it to you, we're not here to seek your consent and we're not here to seek your approval, here it is. So, I'm quite sure that if that was their position, then this talk about expecting a response, what we said to them is that we will be responding regardless of the fact that they were not there to seek our approval our response for that matter. We do not live in an autocratic society and we will not be bullied into a corner and bullied into silence, we will exercise our freedom to speak and we will exercise our right to respond and to reject and agree as we see fit and that is what we will do."
